Why do Catholics Pray to Mary?

By | September 4, 2019

(soft music) – [Narrator] I found this statue
laying next to a dumpster. It was too heavy to throw in the dumpster. And I don’t know who did
that and I walked over and she’s broken in half. Her hands were missing
and she just looked at me. The voice just said to me. Will you deny me and
will you deny my mother? And I ended up taking the statue. I kept her broken because I was broken. We’re all broken but we’re loved by God. I had this urge to learn the rosary. And I had to Google the rosary. I didn’t even know how to say the rosary. The rosary to me is Mary’s hand and when we are holding the rosary, we’re holding her hand. I’ve had so many people that are sick, addicted, afraid, lonely,
suicidal, touch the statue. And it’s a humbling way to go to Mary and say Mary as my mother comfort me. As a mother take me to God. – I had some prostate problems and was in the room with
the lady by herself. And I began to cry. I didn’t want you to see
me but it was so emotional. And I’m saying now come on now I’m an old Baptist boy out of Mississippi. What’s happening here? But the ride home was painless. She is a powerful lady. – [Narrator] I want all
of us who have changed to come forward because Mary takes us to her son, our brother. It’s very important in
the times we live in to bring Mary forward.

Why do Catholics pray to Mary? It's not about the "emotion," even though emotions can result from a true devotion to Mary. Catholics pray to Mary, because JESUS CHRIST told us to do so, and this truth can be found in The Holy Christian Bible.

Jesus Christ gave us His Holy Mother, The Blessed Virgin Mary, to be the Mother of the Catholic Church. So, we as Catholic Christians, can pray to GOD, and in that process, also ask for Mary to intercede on our behalf. And, yes: this Truth is even in the Bible:

The GOSPEL According To JOHN 19: 26-27.

(26). "When Jesus therefore had seen His mother and the disciple standing whom He loved, He saith to his mother: 'Woman, behold thy son.'

(27). After that, He saith to the disciple: 'Behold thy mother.' And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own."

The Apostle John in this case, is a true follower of Jesus Christ; so as a member of the original Apostles, chosen by Jesus, John represents the Catholic Church, which Jesus Christ established through Saint Peter (see MATTHEW 16: 13-19).

Blessed Virgin Mary represents the Mother of the Church. Both Mary and the Apostle John, faithfully stood at the foot of the Cross when Jesus hung there, dying for our sins.

Being His Loving Mother, throughout His life, Mary knows Jesus best, so we can ask for her to be an intercessor, when we approach Jesus for help, as we pray to Him.

Mary does indeed intercede on our behalf, and this Truth is also found in the Bible as well. Read JOHN 2: 1-12 (The Wedding Feast in Cana). Mary was present, there and then, to witness her Son, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, perform His first Public Miracle, by changing Water into the Wine at the Wedding Feast in Cana.

Again, Mary intercedes on our behalf, when she first informs Jesus "They have no wine," and then, after His reply to her, when she then tells the servants "Do whatever He asks."

Jesus changes Water into Wine, which was a prefigurement of Him, changing the Wine into His Blood, later on, when He instituted the most Holy Eucharist.

Jesus Christ saves the Wedding Feast, shows His Approval of Marriage (between 1 man and 1 woman), and He establishes Holy Matrimony as a Sacrament of the Holy Roman Catholic Church.

This Miracle happened because Mary asked Jesus for His help, and He willingly gave it. In a similar way, Mary can intercede on our behalf, when we pray to Jesus Christ, begging Him for His help. Since we are all sinners, we can humbly ask Mary, to help make our prayers to GOD more pleasing to Him. As the wedding Feast in Cana clearly shows, Jesus will never refuse any request that Mary asks of Him, if the requests are in accordance with His Holy Will.

While he was still speaking to the people, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him. But he replied to the man who told him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

"Mary comfort me, Mary take me to God."
This stuff is completely unbiblical, and has it's roots in paganism. Mother of God worship has existed for thousands of years and God spoke openly through the prophets against this.

My question is, why do we need Mary to take us to God? Is the Lord not already infinitely merciful and gracious? The soft music, biblical references, and the great scenes in this video stirred my emotions, but we should keep our minds on God and what the Bible says. God says to Moses in Exodus, that we should make no graven image of anything in heaven, on earth, or in the seas. Our God is a jealous God. This is not a vice on his part, but He genuinely wants us to worship Him only. Why have we rejected this truth, and have turned to worship a human being, a creation of God?

Mary is the mother of Jesus, and she was a virgin when it happened. But don't forget that Christ existed before even Adam and Eve ("Before Moses was, I AM"). She was a human being and gave birth to a human, but Jesus existed apart from time long before Mary was born.

    Don't be deceived.

I wish someday you will repent from this foolishness. I will pray to Jesus for your deliverance; not his earthly dead mother

Oh dear, it really is important NOT to bring her into the future.. what this future needs is JESUS! There is but ONE God the alpha and omega, there is no one like him no not one.. He is God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit all three in one. He and He alone is worthy of worship. Mary is a tremendous earthly person and she was blessed. So are we. Careful not to develop wrongful affections..

You should never keep any broken religious statues(especially with broken fingers)because it attracts negative energy and bad luck.

I'm Catholic, but I find it absurd to treat a statue as though it were human.

"The man who found this holy statue rescued her and took her home. Dirty, chipped and broken in half, Our Blessed Mother was put together again. "

HOLY STATUE! RESCUED HER! PUT HER TOGETHER AGAIN!

Seriously folks, what on earth are you doing talking about a statue as if it was a real person?

AS a catholic I have had less than 30 minutes of my 30 years thinking on mother Mary. I was told by a non catholic that Catholics worship mother Mary. There is no biblical text supporting this and it goes against Gods biblical order. I guess I find being Christian to be most important and that means the Bible should support your beliefs. I feel like I should see what the priest says. We are to love and honor her but I do not believe in worshipping anybody but Jesus and our father, God. Her faith and love should be admired.
