Luncheon held at forest park for Sheriff Cocchi’s community service program

CHILDREN AS POSSIBLE. ASHLEY: DOZENS OF MEN AND WOMEN AT HAMPDEN COUNTY CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES SHARED IN A SALUTE TO SHERIFF NICK COCCHI TODAY.. MAYOR DOMENIC SARNO AND PARKS DIRECTOR PATRICK SULLIVAN HELD A LUNCHEON AT FOREST PARK FOR THE MEN AND WOMEN INVOLVED IN SHERIFF COCCHI’S COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM. RETIRED SHERIFF MICHAEL ASHE BEGAN THE PROGRAM 25 YEARS AGO TO DEFRAY THE COST OF CITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS AND TO BUILD PRIDE AMONG THE RESIDENTS OF THE JAIL.. ASHLEY: SINCE IT BEGAN IN 1993, THE COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM HAS GROWN INTO 10 TEN CREWS OUT ON THE STREETS OF SPRINGFIELD EVERY DAY, PROVIDING THE PARTICIPANTS WITH 900 HOURS OF
