Catholic Kids Homilies – Pentecost Cycle C

By | September 11, 2019

This week is the feast of Pentecost, when
the Holy Spirit comes to us. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the
Trinity, an essential part of God. St Thomas Acquinas wrote that the Holy Spirit
is the love breathed between the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit is very important because
it strengthens us by bringing us closer to Jesus. Jesus isn’t a guy who lived very far away
a long time ago. He’s so close that he’s here with us now,
living inside of us through the gift of the Holy Spirit. This gift is strengthened in the sacrament
of Confirmation. Confirmed Catholics are called to talk about
the faith and spread the faith. We don’t do this alone, but through the
Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives us the gifts of wisdom,
knowledge, understanding, fortitude, counsel, piety, and fear of the Lord. The Holy Spirit helps us know the Faith and
understand our friendship with Jesus. It gives us fortitude, or courage, which helps
us to fight for the faith and what is right. The gift of counsel helps us make good choices. Piety and fear of the Lord are gifts that
help us make God the most important thing in our lives. We need to use these gifts in our lives to
do what is right and to spread the Faith. Jesus sends us the Holy Spirit because he
wants to be closer to us. He wants to be your closest friend, your best
friend forever. Don’t forget to like, subscribe and comment! You can also support this channel on Patreon,
