Bull City Today – Aug 26, 2019 (ep. 670) Equitable Community Engagement

By | September 3, 2019

If your organization is interested and experienced
in helping to reach new and traditionally underrepresented audiences,
the City wants to hear from you. The Neighborhood Improvement Services Department
is accepting proposals from community organizations with experience in structuring and managing
a multi-phase community outreach process. This project is focused on implementing the
City’s Equitable Community Engagement Blueprint. The blueprint is a guideline to address systemic
barriers that cause certain populations to have less of a voice in the way City decisions are made. The organizations that are selected will help
reach and involve diverse audiences in discussing engagement concerns as well as in developing
equitable engagement goals and strategies. The complete R-F-P, application, and guidelines
can be found at durham-community-engagement-dot-org. Applications are due on September fifth.
