>>DENNIS: HI, EVERYONE. THANKS FOR WATCHING TONIGHT. A BEMIDJI CHURCH WAS STRUCK BY LIGHTNING CAUSING ITS CHIMNEY TO PARTIALLY EXPLODE DURING TODAY’S SEVERE WEATHER STORM. SAINT PHILLIP’S CATHOLIC CHURCH AND SCHOOL WAS HIT ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING AROUND 9:45 THIS MORNING. FATHER CHUCK HUCK WAS INSIDE HIS OFFICE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BUILDING WHEN A PARISHIONER RAN IN TO SAY THE CHIMNEY HAD BEEN STRUCK. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS NEAR THE AREA AT THE TIME OF THE EXPLOSION.>>IT’S AN ACT OF GOD. IT’S NATURE. WE JUST DON’T KNOW WHEN THAT MIGHT HAPPEN TO ANY ONE OF US.>>I AM SO THANKFUL IT HIT THE CHIMNEY AND NOWHERE ELSE. THIS CAN BE REPAIRED.>>DENNIS: FATHER HUCK SAYS HE’LL BE TALKING WITH THE CHURCH’S ARCHITECT TO SEE WHAT
