A Catholic Sister Takes Her Vows

By | November 7, 2019

Today has been a very beautiful day. It began with a serenade with the sisters. After that I was preparing in
prayer and sharing with the people and after that we began the Mass. During the Mass I made my vows, and also I received a new veil, a black veil. I changed the blue one to receive the black one that means to be part of the congregation of
the Dominican Sisters of Fatima. It was a very special moment during the
ceremony when I was on the ground, when I was thinking and praying. I was thinking of God above me and all the congregation above me, and my family
praying for me, and I was in the lowest place. And I need that prayer, and in my heart I was praying, not just for me but for everyone. I feel very happy to go
back to Texas after this moment because I really feel much more strength. I feel that God is with me, that I’m the same, but I am with God in my heart and I want
to go back to Texas to show everyone this happiness, this joy, of being with Jesus. I want to go back and tell them, “Hey, Jesus is so great, is so good, to me
and to everyone.” I think these vows are going to help me to imitate Jesus. And to be a testimony of Jesus’s love in the world in Texas.

God bless you my dear sister. We too pray for you. You fulfill Christ's saying : "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life".

When sister takes her solemn vow of profession, is there a party or celebration afterwards? A friend of mine became a priest and there was a reception with wine and cake afterwards.

Sure hope she is a real cloistered nun and not a closet feminist?

The sister always ask if I’m a virgin. I say it’s nun of your business.
